Hotel Del Coronado Haunted
Coronado was recently named as one of the Travel Channel’s top 10 beaches. Hotel Del Coronado Haunted Along the oceanfront of this postcard picture setting, you can find mansions and yacht clubs lining the bay area. You will also find parks, a skateboard park and fine dining surrounding the beach.
Coronado Municipal Beach runs south of the city of Coronado down to the Mexican border and is made up of three zones; North Beach, Central beach and the Shores.
The North Beach coastline faces south. The best time to go surfing is during hurricane season in the summertime. This is when the San Diego area is free from the currents of steep angle swells. You can also get hot dogs at the “Outlet” and check out fire rings near the dunes area.
Central Beach is at the south side of the Hotel Del Coronado. There are several access points to this area or you can find a shortcut to get to the sand. You can park anywhere you can find a parking spot. This part of the beach is extremely popular and stays crowded for the most part. If you’re looking to relax on the boardwalk, you can do so while having servers bring you a beverage or two.
The Shores is the large area just south of the hotel. Since it has a lot of exposure, this part of the beach provides a place for long boarding and body boarding. The high rise condominiums should not stand in the way of where you need to go. You can find plenty of ways to access the beach area, even if you can’t find a close place to park.
Coronado Municipal Beach makes for a great family getaway. Lifeguards are available to watch over you if you’re swimming or surfing. You will also find plenty of amenities to choose from while at the beach. You could even play volleyball at the courts. The beach is also equipped with handicapped accessible facilities, such as wheelchairs and the like.
Make sure you bring a pair of flip flops to wear on the sand. During the day, the sun tends to beam down on the sand making it quite hot to step on. Walking barefoot might pose a problem for your feet later on. The closer the sand is to the water’s edge, the less heat the sand will absorb. However, for all intents and purposes, keep the flip flops handy.
Whatever your intentions are for enjoying a day at the beach, Coronado offers a little something for everyone. Even your dogs are allowed to join you.
