A question about defectors?
This may sound like a bizarre story but here it goes. I had an uncle who was in the army stationed in South Korea. Sometime in the early 1980’s, he defected to the Soviet Union via North Korea. I don’t know why he did this, maybe he was a spy, maybe he was a comnmunist..I really don’t know. He was only 24 at the time and he left his entire family behind. I haven’t heard from him in over 30 years but last week I recieved a Postcard From him originating from St. Petersburg Russia. He is married now with 3 children and teaching English at a highschool there. My question is, if he ever comes back to the US to visit, will he be tried for treason? Also, if I go over there to visit, can I get in trouble?
Unless you wanna know whether or not your uncle is pretty, you’re in the wrong section.

Letters, Postcards, Email: Technologies of Presence (Routledge Research in Cultural and Media Studies) $110.55 In this original study, Milne moves between close readings of letters, postcards and emails, and investigations of the material, technological infrastructures of these forms, to answer the question: How does presence function as an aesthetic and rhetorical strategy within networked communication practices?
