How to convert UAE license to Alberta, Canada license?
Hi!
I have a UAE license with over 5 years of experience. How can I convert to a Alberta, Canada license? I hold a PR (Permanent Residency) card in Canada, but hold an Indian passport.

You actually can be credited for your driving experience, and exempt yourself from going through the graduated licensing process-but you’ll need to have your license validated-this might take awhile and there is some red tape.Awhile back Alberta added 17 more countries (including the UAE) to the list of countries that they extend credit for previous driving experience to.While you cannot make a direct swap as such(only 11 countries can do that-UAE isn’t one) it’s a lot better than starting from scratch.
As I understand it you’ll need an official letter FROM the UAE and stamped by the UAE embassy in Ottawa confirming that your license is valid.The process is outlined on page 35 of the below pdf.
