3 Tips For Using Promotional Postcards
There are so many ways to reach out to consumers, from advertisements, to brochures and flyers. One promotional product that can help you stand out from the rest is postcards. Once you have established designs, contact an organisation that offers book printing and see if they can assist with printing off postcards.
Receptiveness
Everyone enjoys receiving postcards. Usually these are from places that the sender has been, and contain interesting tales of the fun times that have been had. Even if they don’t, receiving a postcard is still an enjoyable experience, as one hears from a friend or loved one about their current activities in life. Using postcards for promotional purposes seek to harness and use these feelings of goodwill towards postcards.
Make It Something That People Want To Send
We’ve all seen those free postcards. The problem is, sometimes the pictured subject matter is not something a recipient may be interested in receiving. For those wanting to promote their products this way, it may be worth dolling up the product, or mixing up the product with other things that people want to see. For example, for a product that is sold in Sydney, maybe have the Sydney Harbour Bridge in part of the picture.
For a business in a rural location, rural farm machinery postcards might not be what everyone wants to receive, but put this in an inset, along with beautiful views of the countryside where the business is located, and voila, a postcard with real appeal to the recipient. The word of the product being sold will still get out, and is likely to be positively associated with other nice images included on the postcard.
How To Disburse
One needs to consider how to disburse the postcards you have had made up. You might be able to leave some postcards where public magazines and so on are picked up from, but the type of product being promoted may also determine if this is appropriate. You can also have your postcards for visitors to pick up at your place of work.
If you are at a place of work where people visit a lot (like a restaurant or shop), then this is easy. If not, you might be able to put up a simple stand with the postcards outside your door on the street. If you are not in a location that has many passers-by, then you will need to look at other options. You may be able to partner with some other businesses to distribute your postcards, or find cafes, restaurants or retail outlets that are happy to stock your free postcards.
When deciding on what type of materials to print and use to promote one’s business, you might think about brochure printing, booklets and business cards. Don’t overlook postcards. While they may not be considered as mainstream as some of the other options, this is part of their appeal. Get the design right, and make them attractive, and word of your products will be posted all over the place!
